Prayer, service, community

This painting by salvidor Dali is entitiled the Ecumenical Council (1960).
I feel that this painting contains a combination of ideas, mostly prayer and service. I feel that he is trying to show the other side of prayer and devotion. That it may seem glorious and righteous, but there are smaller details to it that can make it confusing and scary. Religion has a shining influence on others, but the expression of that influence can be varied in shape and forms.

My favorite aspect of he piece though, is Dali in the corner of the painting and his facial expression.
