Bridge Over Water-Claude Monet

Monet wanted to paint something "for the pleasure of the eye and also for motifs to paint." In 1899 he created a series of views of the wooden bridge and completed 12 paintings. The vertical format of the picture, which wasn't very typical, gives prominence to the water lilies and their reflections on the pond. I really like how the reflections in the water make it look more realistic. I also like how most of it is prominently green, as everything looks as if it flows together.
