A Sunday Afternoon Blog #2

A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte

This painting was created by Georges Seurat, it is an oil on canvas, and it could be found in the Art Institute of Chicago.  This painting shows many people gathered in what looks like a park, enjoying  a beautiful sunny day.  Men, women, children, and animals are gathered taking in the scenery.  I chose this painting because it made me wish I was relaxing in warmer weather.  One thing I find funny about this painting, is that many people are holding umbrellas on a sunny day when rarely anyone does that today.  Also, there seems to be a monkey in the bottom right corner which I think is strange.
